Flavorful Masala Egg

Flavourful Masala Egg is a delicious, protein-packed dish where hard-boiled eggs are simmered in a spiced onion-tomato masala. The earthy cumin seeds, bold garam masala, and fiery chili powders give the dish a rich and aromatic flavor, while the fresh coriander adds a burst of freshness.

For a Serving Size of Two:

Ingredients:

  • 2 eggs
  • 80 grams finely chopped onions
  • 80 grams finely chopped tomatoes
  • 1 green chili
  • 1/2 teaspoon cumin seeds
  • 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon garam masala
  • 1/2 teaspoon red chili powder
  • 2 teaspoons oil
  • Salt to taste
  • Fresh coriander leaves for garnish

Procedure:

  1. Hard-boil the eggs by placing them in boiling water for 9-10 minutes. Peel and set aside.
  2. Heat oil in a pan, add cumin seeds, and let them splutter. Add chopped onions and sauté until golden brown.
  3. Stir in the chopped tomatoes, green chili, turmeric, red chili powder, and salt. Cook until the tomatoes soften and the oil separates.
  4. Cut the boiled eggs in half and add them to the pan.
  5. Gently mix the eggs with the masala and cook for 2-3 minutes to let the flavors blend.
  6. Sprinkle garam masala over the eggs and garnish with fresh coriander leaves.
    Serve hot with roti, bread, or rice.
