Ginger Curd

Ginger Curd is a simple yet flavorful side dish that combines the tangy creaminess of plain yogurt with the aromatic zing of fresh ginger. This refreshing condiment is perfect for pairing with a variety of Indian meals, adding a burst of flavor and a cooling effect. The finely grated ginger infuses the curd with its spicy warmth, while the optional cumin powder and salt enhance the overall taste, making it a versatile accompaniment.
For a Serving Size of Two:
Ingredients:
- 250 grams plain yoghurt
- 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, finely grated
- Salt to taste (optional)
- 1/2 teaspoon cumin powder (optional)
Procedure:
- If the curd is thick, whisk it well to smoothen it out.
- Grate the ginger finely to ensure it’s well distributed in the curd.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the plain curd and finely grated ginger.
- Add salt, and cumin powder to the mixture. Mix well.
- Chill the ginger curd in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld together. Serve chilled as a refreshing side dish or accompaniment.
