Green Pea Poha

Matar Poha is an easy-to-make dish that you can enjoy in your breakfast. It can also be eaten during the evening snack, as it is filling for the stomach and will curb your cravings for junk food.
Nutritional Benefits:
Rice flakes is a rich source of dietary fibre and has a low glycaemic index. It is considered as a good meal for diabetics. Peas are one of the most nutritious leguminous vegetable that is rich in vitamin K, manganese, copper, vitamin C etc.
Ingredients:
- 30 grams rice flakes
- 10 grams peas
- 20 grams onion, chopped
- ½ teaspoon cumin seeds
- ¼ teaspoon asafoetida
- ¼ teaspoon mustard seeds
- ½ teaspoon turmeric powder
- 1-2 green chillies
- 1 spring curry leaf
- Salt to taste
- 1 teaspoon lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon Oil
- 1-2 coriander springs

Method:
- Take poha in a strainer and rinse properly to remove any impurities, drain the water properly and keep the pressed rice aside until required.
- Next, heat the oil in a pan over medium flame and add asafoetida, cumin seeds and mustard seeds in it. Saute for a few seconds and then add curry leaves along with chopped chillies in it and sautee. Add the chopped onions to the pan, fry till they turn golden brown in colour.
- Now, add the washed poha along with the boiled peas in the pan. Quickly, add turmeric powder, lemon juice and salt in the pan and stir to mix all the ingredients for a minute. Add a little water in the pan and cover with a lid. Allow the flavours to get absorbed in the matar poha.
- Turn off the flame and cover the pan, let the poha cook for another 5-6 minutes.
- Garnish the matar poha with coriander leaves.
