Jouthpuri pulao

Jouthpuri pulao is a famous Rajasthani dish made with delectable combination of spices and is flavoured with mint. It is a perfect dish to be tried upon this winter and is the easiest lunch to be prepared or carried off with you at work.

Ingredients:

  • 20 grams cooked rice
  • 3-4 Garlic cloves
  • 3-4 sprigs of curry leaves
  • 20 grams onion
  • ½ teaspoon lemon juice
  • 30 grams potato
  • 1inch cinnamon stick
  • 20 grams tomatoes
  • 2-3 green chillies
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • ¼ teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon mustard seeds
  • 10 grams green peas
  • 10 grams curd
  • Salt as per taste
  • 1 teaspoon olive oil
  • 3-4 sprigs mint leaves

Method:

  • Combine the rice and lemon juice together. Mix well and keep it aside.
  • Heat oil and add mustard seeds, onion, tomato, green chillies, curry leaves, cinnamon and curd. Stir well.
  • Add 1 cup water and allow it boil for some time. Now add boiled potatoes and peas and cook it for few minutes.
  • Add rice and mix well. Garnish with fresh mint leaves.
  • Serve hot.
