Mixed Fruit Shrikhand is a delightful Indian dessert that combines the creamy texture of hung curd with the sweetness of seasonal fruits. Flavored with cardamom and topped with nuts, this dessert is not only delicious but also packed with nutrients, making it a perfect indulgence for any occasion.
For a Serving Size of Two:
Ingredients:
- 200 grams plain Greek yogurt (or hung curd)
- 50 grams mixed fruits (chopped: mango, banana, apple, and berries)
- 2 tablespoons powdered sugar (adjust according to taste)
- 1/4 teaspoon cardamom powder
- 1 tablespoon chopped nuts (almonds, pistachios)
- 1 tablespoon fresh mint leaves
Procedure:
- If using regular yogurt, strain it through a muslin cloth or fine sieve for about 1-2 hours to get hung curd, which will be thicker and creamier.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the hung curd, powdered sugar, and cardamom powder. Whisk until smooth and creamy.
- Gently fold in the chopped mixed fruits, being careful not to mash them. Ensure the fruits are evenly distributed throughout the yogurt mixture.
- Spoon the mixture into serving bowls. Top with chopped nuts and garnish with fresh mint leaves.
- For a refreshing dessert, you can chill the shrikhand in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes before serving.
