Papad Pizza

Papad Pizza is a creative and crunchy twist on traditional pizza, offering a fusion of Indian and Italian flavors. Crispy papads are topped with a tangy tomato sauce, a colorful array of vegetables, crumbled feta cheese, and aromatic spices, then microwaved just until the cheese melts, creating a deliciously quick and easy snack.
For a Serving Size of Two:
Ingredients:
- 4 large papads (urad dal or moong dal variety)
- 50 grams finely chopped onions
- 50 grams finely chopped tomatoes
- 50 grams finely chopped bell peppers (red, yellow, green)
- 20 grams finely chopped olives
- 50 grams crumbled feta cheese
- 1-2 tablespoons tomato sauce (prepared at home)
- 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1/2 teaspoon chili flakes
- Fresh basil leaves or coriander leaves for garnish
- 1 teaspoon olive oil for drizzling
Procedure:
- Lightly roast the papads on an open flame or microwave until they are crisp but not overdone. Set them aside on a flat surface.
- On each roasted papad, spread a thin layer of pizza sauce or tomato ketchup.
- Evenly distribute the chopped onions, tomatoes, bell peppers, and olives over the sauce layer on each papad.
- Sprinkle the crumbled cheese over the toppings. Add a pinch of dried oregano and chili flakes on top..
- Microwave the prepared papads for 1-2 minutes or until the cheese melts.
- Remove the papad pizzas from the microwave. Garnish with fresh basil or coriander leaves and drizzle a little olive oil on top.
- Serve the papad pizzas immediately as a quick and crunchy snack.
