Sauteed Rainbow Chard

Sauteed Rainbow Chard is a simple, nutrient-rich side dish featuring vibrant, tender chard sautéed with garlic and a hint of spice. The earthy flavor of the greens combined with a touch of lemon creates a light and healthy dish that pairs well with any meal.
For a Serving Size of Two:
Ingredients:
- 200 grams rainbow chard, stems and leaves separated, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1/2 tsp red chili flakes (optional)
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 tbsp pine nuts or slivered almonds (optional, for garnish)
Procedure:
- Prep the Chard: Separate the stems from the leaves. Chop the stems finely and roughly chop the leaves.
- Sauté the Stems: Heat olive oil in a pan over medium heat. Add the chopped stems and sauté for 3-4 minutes until slightly softened.
- Add Garlic and Leaves: Add the minced garlic and red chili flakes, cooking for another minute. Then, toss in the chard leaves, season with salt and pepper, and sauté for 2-3 minutes until the leaves are wilted.
- Finish with Lemon: Drizzle with lemon juice and mix well.
- Serve: Garnish with pine nuts or slivered almonds if desired and serve hot.
