Refreshing Indian Black Jamun Cooler

The Indian Black Jamun Cooler is a refreshing and slightly tangy beverage that’s perfect for summer. It highlights the unique, earthy flavor of jamun balanced with a hint of spice from cumin and a touch of sweetness from jaggery.

For a Serving Size of Two:

Ingredients:

  • 200 grams black jamun (Indian blackberry)
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon roasted cumin powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon black salt
  • 1 teaspoon jaggery
  • 500 ml cold water
  • Ice cubes
  • Fresh mint leaves for garnish

Procedure:

  1. Wash the jamun thoroughly, then deseed them and mash them in a bowl until pulpy.
  2. Using a strainer, press the pulp to extract the juice into a bowl, discarding any solids or seeds.
  3. In a jug, combine the jamun juice with cold water, lemon juice, roasted cumin powder, black salt, and jaggery powder. Stir well until the jaggery is dissolved.
  4. Pour into glasses over ice cubes for extra coolness, garnish with fresh mint leaves, and enjoy this vibrant, tangy cooler!
