Turmeric Spiced Tea

This Turmeric Spiced Tea combines earthy turmeric with warming spices like ginger and cinnamon for a comforting, mildly sweet beverage with a touch of heat from black pepper and cloves.

For a Serving Size of Two:

Ingredients:

  • 500 ml water
  • 1 teaspoon ground turmeric or 1-inch grated fresh turmeric root
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger or 1/2-inch grated fresh ginger root
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon honey (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice (optional)
  • 1-2 cloves

Procedure:

  1. In a small pot, bring the water to a gentle boil.
  2. Add the turmeric, ginger, cinnamon, black pepper, and cloves to the boiling water. Lower the heat and let it simmer for 5-7 minutes, allowing the spices to infuse.
  3. Strain the tea into mugs.
  4. Add honey and a dash of lemon juice, if desired. Stir well and enjoy warm.
