Tomato Katlama

Katlama is a traditional Lahori dish. Easy to make and flavourful. Plus, the vegetables in the dish are filled with nutrients, vitamins, and minerals. The dough, made from rice flour and sattu, is kneaded and rested before being pressed into a flatbread shape. Topped with a savory tomato paste and a mix of fresh vegetables, it’s cooked until crispy and golden. Garnished with fresh coriander, this dish offers a delightful combination of textures and tastes.
For a Serving Size of Two:
Ingredients:
- 60 grams rice flour
- 60 grams sattu flour
- 100 grams tomatoes
- 30 grams grated carrot
- 30 grams sliced capsicum
- Salt to taste
- 2 finely chopped green chillis
- 1 tablespoon coriander
- 1 teaspoon oil
Procedure:
- Knead dough in warm water and by adding rice Flour, sattu, and salt. Keep it aside for 10-15 minutes.
- Boil the tomatoes, let them cool, and put them in a blender with green chili, and salt for a smooth paste.
- Heat a pan, and brush with some oil. Take a small piece of dough into a pan and press it with your fingers until it becomes flat like a pizza. Put the tomato paste, and veggies and cook until it turns brown.
- Flip it to cook the other side.
- Garnish it with coriander and serve.
