Tomato Onion Soup

Tomato Onion Soup is a light, flavorful soup made with fresh tomatoes, onions, garlic, and spices like cumin and turmeric. It’s simmered to bring out rich flavors and can be served smooth or chunky. Low in calories, using minimal oil, it’s a healthy, comforting meal.This soup is packed with antioxidants, vitamins, and minerals. Tomatoes provide vitamin C and lycopene for heart health, while onions add fiber and support digestion. It’s a nutritious, heart-friendly option, free from added sugars and excessive fats

For a Serving Size of Two:

Ingredients:

  • 200 grams tomatoes, chopped
  • 100 grams onions, finely chopped
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • 1/2 tsp cumin seeds
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper powder
  • 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 tsp oil for cooking
  • 500 ml water
  • Fresh coriander for garnish

Procedure:

  1. Heat 1 tsp oil in a pan, add cumin seeds, and let them splutter.
  2. Add garlic and sauté until fragrant, then add onions and cook until translucent.
  3. Add chopped tomatoes, turmeric, black pepper, and salt. Cook until tomatoes are soft.
  4. Add water and simmer for 10 minutes. Blend the soup to a smooth consistency (optional).
  5. Garnish with fresh coriander and serve hot.
