World Pizza Party Day : Here are Some Healthy Pizza Recipes to Lighten Up Your Day

Pizza is one of the world’s most popular junk foods today. Isn’t it your most favourite guilty pleasure food to enjoy your day off or for a get together with friends? Do you know that the pizza you order from your favourite restaurant is most likely high in sodium, saturated fats, sugar and several preservatives.
You will be surprised to know that you do not have to give up pizza altogether, You can give it a healthy twist instead. Here are some healthy pizza recipes to lighten up your day:
- Whole wheat pizza
Ingredients: 1 cup Whole wheat atta, 1 tbsp yeast, 1 tbsp sugar, water to knead dough, 2 tbsp Pizza sauce, Veggies, Chicken/Paneer , cheese for toppings.
Method: Make a regular dough with whole wheat atta. Use pizza sauce, veggies, paneer for toppings liberally. Add less cheese on top, Bake until golden brown. - Mushroom & Olives pizza
Ingredients: 1 cup oats flour, 1 tbsp yeast, 1 tbsp sugar, 2 tbsp pizza sauce, mushroom/chicken, olives, cheese for toppings.
Method: Make a regular dough using oats flour. Put a layer of pizza sauce, use mushroom, olives, cheese and herbs for toppings. Bake until golden brown. - Cauliflower pizza
Ingredients: 2 cups Cauliflower florets, 2 tbsp pizza sauce, Corn, zucchini, olives, cheese.
Method: Finely mince the cauliflower florets, add in the cheese and mix well. Lay the mixture into a thin rectangular shape layer on a baking sheet and bake for 20-30 mins. Use pizza sauce, corn, zucchini, olives, cheese and herbs for toppings. Bake until golden brown. - Ragi pizza
Ingredients: 1 cup ragi flour, 1 tbsp yeast, 1 tbsp sugar, water to knead, 2 tbsp pizza sauce, pumpkin, cherry tomato, basil, cheese, herbs for toppings
Method: Make a regular dough using ragi flour. Put a layer of pizza sauce and sprinkle pumpkin, cherry tomatoes, basil, cheese, herbs on top. Bake until golden brown. - Chapati pizza
You can use your homemade leftover chapati and turn that into a base for your pizza. You can top it up with Pizza sauce, loads of veggies, herbs and cheese. Bake until golden brown and enjoy!

You can make any pizza into a healthy pizza by replacing the maida base with wholewheat, oats or any other whole grain. You can also use a starchy vegetable as a base to increase your fibre intake, without having to worry about gluten. Make sure you are not overloading your pizza with cheese, Instead grate some paneer to make it healthier. Use seasonal vegetables as topping to add an extra dose of nutrition to your pizzas.
