Matcha Green Tea Fusion

The Matcha Green Tea Fusion is a vibrant and energizing beverage that combines the rich, umami flavors of matcha with a touch of creaminess from milk and a hint of citrus. It’s an ideal drink for a refreshing boost, whether enjoyed hot or cold.

For a Serving Size of Two:

Ingredients:

  • 240 ml water
  • 1 teaspoon matcha powder
  • 60 ml milk
  • Ice cubes
  • Lemon slices and mint leaves for garnish

Procedure:

 

  • Heat the water until just below boiling (around 80°C or 175°F).
  • In a small bowl, sift the matcha powder to avoid clumps. Add a small amount of the hot water (about 2 tablespoons) to the matcha powder and whisk vigorously using a bamboo whisk or a small regular whisk until the matcha is fully dissolved and frothy.
  • Pour the remaining hot water into the bowl with the whisked matcha. Stir well to combine. For a creamier texture, add the almond milk or your preferred milk to the tea.
  • If you prefer a cold drink, let the tea cool to room temperature, then refrigerate it for about 30 minutes. Serve over ice cubes if desired.
  • Pour the matcha green tea fusion into glasses. Garnish with lemon slices and mint leaves if desired, and enjoy!
